Blankets
Management is finally on board about we the people using blankets as draw sheets.
There is catch! There is always a catch. Right? Here's the skinny. Use them as you really need them and deposit used blankets at the hospitals with your patients.
Blankets and sheets (those nice hospital sheets) are not to be returned or disposed of at OPS. No exceptions! There is no one to wash them and we have several mountains of sheets that keep multiplying.
This is managements new don't ask, don't tell policy.
Anyone who deposits sheets and blankets for laundering or disposal at OPS will be disciplined.
Please don't abuse going thru too many blankets during the course of your shifts. You may find yourself being interogated by the sups so be responsible.
More blankets are on order and we will be increasing the stock levels in the supply room.
Speaking of supplies...........Please do not hoard supplies on the ambulances or anywhere else for that matter. When someone hoards stuff that means someone else must do without. This also throws off our inventory. Please stock the cabinets to what the cabinet labels says we need in there and reseal the cabinets. Don't take extra stuff at the begining of your shift for "I might need this today". Run out of some supplies because the levels are too low? Go out of service and restock!!
Management thinks that a reduction in supplies on the rigs is working. Make a statement by returning and restocking. This sends the message home that there isn't enough supplies on the rig to get you thru your shift.
Management will be conducting random rig checks to make sure rigs are compliant. All overstock will be removed.
Rig caught will overstock, as the crew you will also find yourself in the progressive discipline process!
Supplies usage is out of control and we are way over budget. Cost of supplies keeps going up.
Wanna guess how much one of those small bottles of Nitro spray cost? They are over $115.00 each! The price keeps going up.
The goal is to keep supplies on hand so you have the tools to do your job. Please help by keeping the waste down and restock all items used during the day at the end of your shift.
Have a cost saving tip to pass on? We want to hear it.
Thank You!
