Know Your Rights!

If a member of management wants to talk to you about an investigation, the Supreme Court has ruled workers have the right to Union representation. These are your Weingarten Rights. An investigatory interview occurs if: (1) Management questions you to obtain information; and (2) you have reason to believe that your answers could be used as a basis for discipline or other adverse action.
You must ask for representation, either at the beginning or during the interview. Management does not have to remind you. When the employee makes the request for a union representative to be present management has three options:
(1) it can stop questioning until the representative arrives.
(2) it can call off the interview or,
(3) it can tell the employee that it will call off the interview unless the employee voluntarily gives up his/her rights to a union representative (an option the employee should always refuse.)
If you have received ANY discipline contact a Steward IMMEDIATELY! You have rights!
